Apricot jam

We prepare homemade sweet preservation for the winter apricot jam.

For apricot jam , it is better to take unripe fruits, unripe apricots contain more pectin, which means that the jam will thicken faster and better.

Ingredients for bricos jam

  • Apricots – 1000 g;
  • sugar – 1000 g;
  • lemons – 1 pc;
  • butter – 25 g.

Method of making apricot jam

The pan in which you will cook the jam (stainless, but not aluminum) grease the bottom with butter. This will help prevent the jam from burning.

Cut the apricots in half and put them in a saucepan in layers. Sprinkle each layer with sugar.

Squeeze the juice from the lemon and pour over the apricots with sugar.

Leave it all overnight so that the apricots let the juice out.

The liquid that has been released from the apricot should cover the fruit a little, if there is more liquid, pour out the excess, otherwise the jam may not thicken.

Put the pan on medium heat and cook for 15 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Then increase the heat to very high and let the fruit boil for 10-25 minutes. The density of the jam depends on the boiling time. At this stage, it is important to stir the jam periodically so that it does not burn.

Put the hot jam in hot sterilized jars and roll up the lids.

Apricot jam for the winter is ready. Tasty!!!!
