Cherry compote

Cherry compote loves to drink in winter not only adults, but also children.

Cherry compote is very easy to prepare . One has only to put the cherries in jars, pour hot syrup, sterilize and roll up. The whole process will take no more than an hour and delicious preservation for the winter is ready.

Cherry compote: ingredients for one 3 liter jar

  • Black or red cherries – 1.5 kg
  • Sugar – 1.5 or 2 cups
  • Water

Cherry compote: cooking

  1. The berries need to be washed and the stalks removed.
  2. Fill 1/3 of the jar with berries.
  3. Add sugar.
  4. Pour hot boiled water to the top.
  5. Cover the jar with a lid, sterilize for 15 minutes.
  6. Remove the jar from sterilization and roll up. The jar needs to be turned upside down and put “under the covers” for a day.
  7. Store cherry compote in a cool, dark place.
