Growing wisteria in a container
For lovers of exotic flowers living in cold parts of the country (winter -30 degrees), wisteria can be grown not only outdoors, but also in a container.

Pot and soil for wisteria
The wisteria pot should be large enough (2 times larger than the previous one), and the soil should be nutritious. Choose a pot of light colors, make a drain hole at the bottom, to drain excess water, wisteria does not tolerate stagnant water. At the bottom of the pot, pour a 5 cm layer of expanded clay, then a layer of fertile soil (sod soil, peat,compost, sand(2:1:1:1)). We put the plant, cover it with nutritious soil, water it.

To form a climbing plant like a tree, you need to choose 1 robust shoot(remove the rest). Tie it to the base. We remove all the lower (up to 70 cm buds, future shoots) shoots, leave 5-6 buds, and cut off the growth point at a height of 120 cm – 150 cm. In autumn, we cut off the length of the side shoots. In March, cut the young side shoots to 2-3 good buds, forming a crown.

Wisteria in summer and winter
When growing wisteria in a container, in the spring-autumn period, it is recommended to take it out into the fresh air: balcony, veranda, garden. In addition, such wisteria needs to be provided with a winter dormant period: stop feeding, reduce watering, and lower the air temperature to +5 ° C.

Wisteria transplant
Wisteria should be transplanted by transshipment. Young plants – every year (up to 3 years) in a larger pot. In the future, replace the top layer (5 cm) with fresh and nutritious soil every year.
