Apple-plum jam – recipe

We bring to your attention a great recipe for apple and plum jam!

Apple and plum jam can be served with pancakes and pancakes, toast, cottage cheese casserole or just tea.

Ingredients for apple-plum jam

  • Apples – 1 kg;
  • plums – 1 kg;
  • sugar – 1.5-2 kg

Making apple-plum jam

Plums need to be thoroughly washed, cut into halves and remove seeds.

Pour the prepared plums into a large enamel pan, add 1 kg of sugar and leave for 1 hour.

Next, put the pan on the fire and, stirring occasionally, cook for about 30 minutes.

If the plums have given too little juice in an hour, add a small amount of water to the pan.

After the specified time, remove the pan from the heat and set aside for about 2 hours.

In the meantime, we are dealing with apples. Apples need to be washed, peeled and seeded, cut into thin slices. Pour the apples into a saucepan with plums, add the remaining sugar and mix all the ingredients well.

Put the pan on the stove and cook the jam over low heat for 30 minutes. Do not forget to stir the fruit with sugar from time to time.

Using a blender, you need to grind the fruit mass into mashed potatoes.

Stirring constantly, bring the jam to a boil again.

Pour the finished apple-plum jam into hot sterilized jars and roll up the lids.

Tip: In order to give apple and plum jam an original note, you can add a small amount of ginger (fresh or dried), cinnamon or lemon zest to it.
