Lawn seeds. Lawn varieties
Seeds for the lawn are selected taking into account the further use of the grassy area: whether it is a lawn for outdoor games or for a patio area, the seed mixture can vary dramatically in quality and varieties of cereals.
When buying a lawn mixture, carefully read the instructions, which indicate the purpose of the lawn.
There are several types of lawn grasses: sports, English (parterre), landscape, meadow (Moorish), universal lawn.

Sports lawn
Sports lawn – sown in places where a playground, children’s area or pet walking area is planned. The composition of sports mixtures includes herbs that are not afraid of trampling. Such lawns are dense, tough and unpretentious. A more durable substrate is made under such lawns to avoid grass breaks. For playgrounds and play areas, it is recommended to sow sports mixtures that can withstand constant trampling.

English (parterre) lawn
The English lawn is the exact opposite of the sports lawn, it does not tolerate movement on it. The main purpose of such a lawn is decorativeness (contemplation). Mixtures consist of expensive delicate herbs that require rich soil, constant care and cutting, are afraid of shady places and trampling. In the landscape, the English lawn looks luxurious and expensive, but it is a purely decorative corner, where picnics and tea parties are excluded.

Garden and park lawn
Do-it-yourself garden and park lawn in the yard or cottage is the easiest way to do. The cereals that make up it are unpretentious, tolerate both shade and direct sunlight well, grow on poor soils. Therefore, for recreation areas, patios, areas near pools, it is best to choose a garden and park lawn.

Meadow (Moorish) lawn
A meadow lawn is a flowering lawn with a bright palette of colors for the whole summer. If you like the variety of grasses in the field and flower-strewn lawns, then choose this type of lawn. You can create a mixture for a meadow lawn yourself by choosing plants so that they bloom alternately throughout the spring-autumn period. An easier option is to buy a ready-made one, where herbs are already selected that get along well together, do not drown out each other and are distinguished by bright colors. These types of lawns are rarely mowed (only in order to remove faded plants and allow subsequent flowers to germinate). It is not recommended to walk on such a lawn (height up to 20 cm.). The grasses will bend under your feet and the lawn will lose its decorative effect. Meadow lawns, especially Moorish lawns, are perfect for rustic styles of site design and look natural.

Universal lawn
A universal lawn is created very quickly, because ready-made rolled strips of grass are used for it.
They are sold with turf and quickly take root in a new place. With the help of roll materials, grassy areas on the site where movement is planned are quickly equipped. As a decorative, parterre lawn , this option is not suitable, because unpretentious hard grasses that do not have high aesthetic qualities are used for its cultivation. It should be noted that such lawns will cost much more than sowing grass for the lawn. Roll strips require special soil preparation and the ability to line them correctly. Rolled lawns are a versatile type of lawn (albeit expensive!) on which you can create recreation areas or playgrounds.
