Glass bottle vases

Such and similar original vases can be made from improvised materials and simple tools by anyone. These vases are made of ordinary materials – glass bottles and glasses, porcelain cups and bowls with the help of tools that every craftsman has.

So, for the first vase, a half-liter bottle of vodka was used, which has the shape of a pyramid (1). First, the threaded part of the neck is cut off from the pyramid bottle, but not exactly at right angles, but a little obliquely. To do this, the cutting line that will need to be carried out is scratched on the neck with an ordinary roller glass cutter (2).

14. … and then paint the bottle with brown spray paint. It turns out such a “ceramic” vase. A thin beer mug together with an old bowl can also become the basis of another flower vase.

But almost any paint fits very well on a matte surface. To decorate this vase, you can use textured spray paint of the Stone Creanion series in Green Marble. It is used for decorative decoration and stylization of various surfaces imitating stone, marble or granite (8). The result can be seen in (9).

For the next vase, a bottle of a rather unusual shape is used (10). First, as before, her neck is cut off (11), the surface is treated with a paste to a matte state and painted with brown spray paint. The result is a pseudo-ceramic vase (12).

Finally, the last vase in this series. To make it, take a beer mug (13) and a small old worn bowl. With the help of special glue for glass, glue the bowl and mug bottom to bottom, before aligning them with an abrasive bar (14). Use strong glue that hardens from ultraviolet radiation. Using it is quite simple: you need to apply glue to both gluing parts, squeeze them tightly and expose them to the sun or place them under a special ultraviolet lamp.

Next, a bandage of a thin cord moistened with kerosene is placed on this scratch from the glass cutter and set on fire (3). Thanks to the rapid local heating, the glass cracks exactly along the line that the glass cutter noticed, and the upper part of the neck is easily separated (4). Small irregularities in the oblique cut are removed with a drill with a grinding wheel with waterproof marl paper (5). After that, the sharp edges of the cut should be blunted with a fine-grained abrasive bar and the workpiece takes on an almost finished shape. Only finishing work remains.

But, before painting the workpiece in any color, its surface should be prepared to improve the adhesion of the paint to the glass (adhesion). Under production conditions, parts are usually processed in sandblasting chambers to make the surface rough, matte. At home, it is easier to use a special paste for frosting glass (6). The result of its use is (7)
