Water is one of the original elements, which, like fire, always attracts a person. If there is no pond or rivulet, you can create your own water garden with streams, waterfalls, fords and bridges, even with a swamp. Water compositions provide a unique opportunity for decorating the site. Streams, for example, allow you to divide the site into zones, emphasize the characteristic features of the terrain and structures, and the pond will become a place where you can rest and relax while observing flora and fauna. A stream or pond can be supplemented with a section of damp swampy soil, on which coastal vegetation will take root well.

In order for plants and living creatures to feel comfortable, and the ecological system to maintain balance, a number of conditions must be observed. First of all, you should take care of water. An excessive amount of harmful substances may be found in rain and summer water, so it is better not to use them, but to use well or tap water.

When it comes time to add cold water, this should be done gradually, in small portions, and it is better to keep the water in a tub or inflatable pool beforehand. Finally, the biological balance in the reservoir will reach the optimum, that is, all organic substances entering the water will be gradually absorbed by aquatic plants.

When filling the pond, you can use peat tablets, or bags of peat, which acidify the water, this also stops the growth of algae. Small accumulations of light green algae should not be feared, this is normal, but their excessive growth should not be allowed.

But the fish will not appear on its own, you will have to follow it to the nearest lake or river. Better – local varieties of fish, they adapt well to new conditions. Of the exotic ones, you can try to breed golden carps, which breed well and, with sufficient care, reach a good size.
