This type of fence, which is popular in landscape design, rules not only behind the fence, protecting against uninvited guests, but also decorates the site and adds picturesqueness to it. And there are many design options here.

Much depends on the choice of plants, then you can answer the question – the shady side, whether sunny, free growth or curly trimming, simple greenery or multicolor.

If it is decided that the fence will be free-growing, you should estimate the size of the site, because the width of such a living wall will require three or more meters. If there is enough space, you can plant garden jasmine or meadowsweet.

The choice of plants is also associated with the height of the future hedge. If you need a border no higher than a meter, then choose small-leaved and compact plants that grow slowly. For a trimmed border, you need a woodsuckle (honeysuckle) or Japanese euonymus. For a free-growing border – heather, mahonia, Japanese quince.

Lavender comes in pink, purple, white, and even yellow.

For a fence of medium height, from a meter to three, you need to use thuja, hawthorn, vesicle. In addition to bushes, you can also use small trees. A living wall above three meters can be created with spruce, linden, white willow, hornbeam. All of them withstand trimming well.

Hedges in combination with fences made of metal, wood or stones can be spectacular and attractive. Here it is better to choose ivy, climbing hydrangea, rose or rose hips.
