How to make a place for a fire pit
Creating a small place to relax in the yard (patio) has long been popular with site owners. Recently, special attention has been paid to the patio, because friends and family gather in the evenings for meetings, communication or celebration. And it is the fire that is a symbol of home comfort and warmth on such pleasant spring and autumn evenings.

To be able to enjoy the magic of open fire on your site, you can allocate a special place and equip it for a cozy rest (if space allows), or you can make a simple quickly collapsible structure for the fire, which is easy to put before the arrival of guests and disassemble at the end of the celebration.
Choosing a place for a hearth
To make your stay even more comfortable and enjoyable, a platform with comfortable stationary seats, or with garden furniture, is arranged around the place for the hearth . The shape of the street hearth can be any, but the style in which the place for the hearth will be made should fit the general style of the house and fit into the landscape of the yard. The simplest and most convenient fire mold is round, because it is easy to care for and easy to maintain.
To create a picturesque place in the yard, you should choose a material to cover the place around the fire. It can be laid out with tiles, sprinkled with gravel, or laid out with stones. The choice of materials and design methods is determined only by the style of the site.
One of the most popular in landscape design is the reception, zoning of the site, the site with a hearth is located below the house or on an open lawn of the yard. Making a secluded place for a hearth is not at all difficult.

Hearths buried in the soil
Recessed hearths are suitable for any area, and such a hearth can be decorated in any style. The only requirement for arranging a buried hearth is not to bury it too much, since the natural combustion process can only be maintained by the influx of fresh air. To ensure the necessary air circulation, firewood in a recessed hearth is stacked in a slide, leaving wide gaps for air between them, and retreating to a sufficient distance from the walls.

How to make a recessed hearth
- Determine the size of the focus. Put a peg, fix, tie a rope of the desired length and draw the circle we need. As you will lay out the walls with bricks, make a wider recess for better air circulation.
- In a certain circle, carefully dig a hole along the contours, depth – 30 cm.
- At the bottom of the dug hole, lay out 10 cm of gravel, and level it for a solid structure.
- The walls of the pit need to be laid out with bricks. The brick must be laid vertically so that its side is turned towards the fire (vertical masonry). The gaps between the bricks can be closed with ordinary clay, the bricks are compacted and leveled with a hammer.
- We spread the top layer around the pit (border). With a shovel, we remove pieces of turf, and level them so that the surface around the hearth lies easier and smoother. The border of the place for the fire must also be decoratively equipped. It can be the same bricks, or paving slabs. Try to make an interesting, even pattern so as not to disturb the composition with a circle inside.
A place for a hearth in the form of a recess will complement the landscape design.

Above-ground place for fire
We most often use such a hearth in nature, but it can also be used as a decorative, quickly collapsible hearth and in small courtyards.
If you make such a fire on the grass, you need to remove the turf, then lay out a circle of bricks, stones or paving slabs, and light the fire before the arrival of guests.

Note! If you make the aerial hearth tall and narrow, be sure to make additional holes for air circulation. In such fires, you can use any firewood, and fry kebabs, sausages.
The place for the fire is ready.
