October and November are quite crucial months in terms of preparing the soil for winter. To get a rich harvest next year, we need to take care of it in the fall.
How to prepare the land for winter to get a rich harvest?

- Digging the earth. You need to dig up the ground to the depth of a shovel ( 20 cm). When digging, keep the shovel in an upright position, with an inclined position of the shovel it is inconvenient to drip, and this position will significantly reduce the depth of digging. After digging, the resulting clods of earth do not need to be leveled, since such a surface is able to better retain and retain moisture.
- Removal of weed roots and other plant debris. During digging, you need to remove all possible (visible) weed roots, rotten and diseased remains of plants, vegetables and fruits. Contaminated food debris can infect the entire land plot with various diseases such as fusarium, black leg, anthracnose, powdery mildew, nametoda.

Application of mineral and organic fertilizers. Next, we apply organic and mineral fertilizers.
Organic fertilizers include: peat, wood ash, lake silt, compost, humus, manure. Mineral fertilizers are a source of various nutrients (sulfur, iron, magnesium, nitrogen, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus).
- Liming if necessary. For very acidic soils, you need to reduce the acidity and lime will help us with this, which will extinguish the acidic soil.
Insulation or mulching. The main purpose of preparing the soil for winter is to create prerequisites for next year for a rich harvest, as well as to provide the necessary conditions for a comfortable wintering of plants.
You can mulch the soil with fallen leaves, sawdust, mowed grass. In the spring, we do not remove the mulch, but dig it up, this will add organic fertilizers to our land.
