When creating a New Year’s composition, be careful with the use of a large number of details – only one thing should be the main one, everything else should be secondary. For example, when working on a New Year’s wreath of conifers, add brightcolors, and focus on the main thing. Do not weigh down the sides of the wreath, place everything massive and heavy either above or below.
Before you start composing any composition, put all the components side by side and see: what is missing and what is too much, the maximum number of colors on the product should not exceed 3 – 4, it is better to immediately pick up an unnecessary part than to throw away the finished product later.
How to make a New Year’s wreath
New Year’s wreaths should be made round, not very heavy, but bright using different materials.
- You will need, depending on your product:
- Wire as the basis of the product;
- Thread, hot glue (gun);
- Flexible twigs (willow) 70 – 80 cm long. Christmas tree (thuja, juniper) and deciduous twigs;
- Cones, rowan berries, viburnum, lemongrass, paradise apples…;
- Ribbons, necklaces, toys, artificial snow or other décor.
A wreath of pine or spruce branches will undoubtedly decorate your home on the eve of the holiday.
Making a New Year’s wreath
We make a metal frame. We make a metal frame from 2-4 rings: one larger in diameter, the second smaller. We fasten the rings together with thin metal wire. The frame is ready. On such a frame you can stick a lot of cones and décor – the wreath is ready.
Next, divide coniferous branches or flexible (willow) branches, fold to a pile. Fold the coniferous twigs into small bunches and wrap them with a green thread to the metal base, inserting a bright décor, if necessary, cover the bottom of the previous one with each subsequent bunch. Fold the flexible branches into a bundle, secure with wire at one end and twist so that the branches are intertwined with each other, fix them, and attach them to the base. The base of our wreath is ready.
Next, glue the décor with hot glue. Before gluing the décor, fold the composition, fix the necessary parts together if necessary. Wrap the base of the décor with wire for reliability, fix with hot glue.
The last step depends on your imagination. The more (but not too many) small details, the more beautiful your artwork is.
New Year’s candlestick
A New Year’s candlestick is made in the same way as a wreath, but take a larger amount of wire as a basis, to which you will give the desired shapes. You can also use a board, part of a tree, etc. Each handmade craft will always bring joy and home comfort.
